I bought a new gaming pc in December and being the dyspraxic idiot I am, Ive managed to pull my tower unit off the table. Itll start up but it goes to Aptio utility ready and it doesnt recognise my difficult drive and then Im bold its been irreparably damaged in the fall.
The computer has no disk drive and I havent created whatever recovery media. Do I have to purchase a new version of windows or is in that location a way for me to reinstall it on a new drive? I have the windows production key but because the hard drive is expressionless, I deceit uninstall windows from the old drive, which I was nether the impression I needed to do earlier I could reinstall it?
Pc is a Veno Scorp with windows ten.
Any advice would exist appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the windows product primal simply considering the hard drive is dead, I deceit uninstall windows from the old bulldoze, which I was under the impression I needed to do before I could reinstall it?
Non true. You can reinstall Windows x on a new drive without the demand to uninstall Windows from the quondam drive. Microsoft probably gave you a digital license. A make clean install will activate one time online simply having the key is a good fill-in. Enter it when installing Windows 10 to the new bulldoze.

Hi to Bleeping Computer!
Take you cheque if the cabling to harddrive may take come up loose when your computer savage.
Good proposition. Merely taken the panel off the case and can see that in that location are about half-dozen wires which arent plugged into anything. 2 or iii related to the fan lights only Im not sure what the remaining ones are for. Dont call up anythings missing from the hard drive from what I can come across but unsure what these unplugged cables are for. Is in that location a manner for me to mail a motion-picture show on here so someone could have a expect?
Mikey11 and JohnC - thanks! I spoke to a local estimator tech guy on the telephone and he said I needed to buy windows 10 once again and was trying to push me into buying it from him so glad I asked instead of taking his discussion for information technology.

Good suggestion. Simply taken the console off the example and can see that at that place are about 6 wires which arent plugged into annihilation
having spare wire connectors laying around inside your case is somewhat normal,
in most computers all of the ability feeds will not be used,
you need two wires connected to your hard drive, a power cable, and a sata cable connected to the MB
and no you lot Practice NOT take to buy windows x once more, that guy is feeding you lot a BS sandwich

I accept the windows production key merely because the hard drive is dead, I cant uninstall windows from the former drive, which I was under the impression I needed to do before I could reinstall it?
You cannot install the aforementioned Windows license on two hard drives which are being used in two different machines. Since the i drive is dead (and ostensibly will non be able to be used in a second organization), nothing to be considered here. Even if the drive is still functional, it tin can exist used for storage only it cannot use the installed Windows version in a different system. The same license cannot apply to two different systems.

What am I misunderstanding? Im taking JohnCs comment to mean I practice not take to purchase windows again and can reinstall using my current product key on a new hard drive. Im taking your comment to mean I cannot practise this. If Im misunderstanding,
Please explicate. All I want is an answer to my question and Ive been told 2 dissimilar things.

I was under the impression we were talking about 1 computer. From your offset post are you maxim you have two computers, a new gaming estimator and some other computer with no drive. As long equally the OS stays with the same calculator you are okay. If y'all program on transferring the OS from i figurer to another computer then that would only be possible with a retail license of Windows 10.
Microsoft volition sometimes transfer the license if you explain the reason for doing so.

as long as information technology is windows viii or ten it will have assigned a digital license to your computer. and when installing from any Windows disc 8 or ten windows disc it will detect the digital license when you connect to the net.
the 1st thing you take to worry about is downloading the image file for windows 10 and either fire it to a disc or to a USB drive it volition ask yous which device. but first google media creation tool for windows 10.
and you lot will go a link to the download.
when install if you internet is not detected select install without a key. then subsequently its installed and you have either the wifi or ethernet drivers installed and so it will cheque you digital license and yous be done.
2nd is finding drivers if windows doesn't have microsoft generic driver available for your devices.
